This presentation focuses on the evidence that supports use of complimentary and alternative medicine approaches in caring for patients with cancer. The content will review several integrative oncology strategies that are proven safe and effective with conventional medicine approaches, and will review patterns of complimentary and alternative medicine use among cancer patients. Learning Outcomes: • Identify terms and therapies associated with complementary and alternative medicine. • Describe the patterns of CAM therapy use within the cancer population. • Identify evidence-based CAM therapies for oncology. This lecture was presented as part of the RN and Allied Health Lecture series.
