This presentation discusses the psychosocial needs of patients experiencing cancer. In also includes information about resources that are available to family members during the cancer journey. Lecture Objectives: -Describe the spectrum of psychosocial needs for individuals experiencing cancer during diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship or end-of-life care. -Define the role that mental health professionals play in meeting the psychosocial needs of cancer patients. -Discuss professional services that are available to patients and their families during a cancer experience. -Discuss the importance of collaboration and teamwork in meeting the psychosocial needs of cancer patients. This lecture is part of the North Carolina Community College Lecture Series.
