Helping Patients Cope With Cognitive Changes After Chemotherapy - K. Thompson - 20150114
This lecture will focus on the effects that patients treated with chemo have on their cognitive abilities including attention, memory, and basic decision-making. Learning Outcomes: 1. Participants will learn about how the functional cognitive domains of attention, memory, and executive functioning are defined and assessed, as well as factors that can influence cognitive efficiency in healthy and medically ill individuals. 2. Participants will enhance their familiarity with and understanding of the current scientific literature on "chemobrain." 3. Participants will be able to identify strategies and resources for helping patients cope with "chemobrain." This lecture was presented as a part of the RN and Allied Health Series.
